Elan Schwartz (he/they) is an interdisciplinary artist from Cincinnati, OH. They explore the active practice of individualized love in an everyday, sustainable manner. Through interactive installations, embroidery, and photography, he exposes his innermost thoughts and emotions and he delivers his vulnerabilities in the hopes that the ones sharing in the work meet them with their own.
Elan received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a certificate in Pre-Art Therapy from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. They have had the honor to work at/with organizations including Wave Pool, Indigo Hippo, The Well, The Carnegie, as well as in multiple artists' studios including Lorena Molina, Alice Pixley Young, and Amanda Curreri. They have exhibited and performed at spaces including The Contemporary Arts Center (Cincinnati), Matca (Vietnam), Hildebrandt Artist Collective (Cleveland), Dream Clinic Project Space (Columbus), BasketShop Gallery (Cincinnati), and The Carnegie (Covington). Elan received an Ohio Arts Council Artist Opportunities grant (2024), was an Illuminate Artist Fellow (2024), and has attended residencies at The Peter Bullough Foundation (2024) and the Contemporary Arts Center (2025). They are currently an MFA Candidate at Cranbrook Academy of Art.​​​​​​​
