Elan Schwartz (he/they) is an interdisciplinary artist currently located in Cincinnati, OH. They hold a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a certificate in Pre-Art Therapy from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.
Schwartz explores intra/interpersonal relationships focusing on the most effective tool to communicate the concept. His relationship with his partner has been a main source of inspiration. Throughout this relationship, many emotions have risen to the surface that have made him question things about himself and his other relationships. Uncertainty, vulnerability, adoration, doubt, care, empathy, anxiety, tenderness – these core, secondary, and tertiary emotions are a part of everyone's lives and the relationships that fill them. Through his work, Schwartz sees power and value in sharing his vulnerabilities and asks for the ones experiencing the work to reciprocate. His pieces reflect the possibilities of growth when being vulnerable with yourself and others.
