2019 - Cincinnati, OH - 840 Gallery - Solo Exhibition
This solo exhibition was an exploration of my body and mind. I wanted to take these hidden parts of transitioning out from the shadows and have them surround the viewers. I explored something that is really personal to me and intentionally put myself in a very vulnerable position when I created a public show out of it. This group of work shows the physical pain I put myself in to try to heal some of the emotional pain that's involved with being transgender. Trying to become happier has resulted in physical scars on my body. Sometimes I hate them, and sometimes I think they’re beautiful. I think I like blurry pictures because it doesn’t feel like anything is concrete. There’s possibility of something else.
